Paisley Rotary Club

A huge thank you to the Paisley Rotary Club for your generous donation to purchase a new Trauma Stretcher for the Chesley Hospital! Your support helps us continue to make a meaningful impact - we couldn't do it without you!
This trauma stretcher is a vital piece of equipment for our emergency department. With built in scale and x-ray panel, this stretcher allows hospital staff to dispense weight-based medication, and complete x-rays without the trauma patient having to be moved. The gel foam mattresses also ensures a patient's comfort during treatment.

Madison Hammell

Madison Hammell is in grade 9 and attends Saugeen Shores District Highschool. She is in her 4th year of 4-H and a member of the Paisley 4-H Beef Club. While there are many things she enjoys about the 4-H program, attending fall fairs and junior shows are always a highlight. Madison is fortunate to have a group of “cheerleaders” at many shows she attends. This includes family and many friends. People who encourage her, congratulate her, and well give her a nudge when she needs it. Madison lost one of her cheerleaders this past August, Bob Johnson. Madison cherished her conversations with Bob. They usually started with “Hello young lady” or “Poppa J is going to tell you”. Bob was always there for Madison and many other young people in agriculture.
On October 12, 2024, Madison took part in the Brussel’s 4-H Show and Sale. The event is where the 4-H kids select a calf in the spring, attend the show and then sell the animal after. Part of the 4-H members job is to promote their animal and invite businesses to attend the sale. As Madison prepared her “sales pitch” she said to her family “it won’t be the same without Bob there”. Show day arrived with the sun shining, and spectators watched as the judge awarded Madison’s calf with the title of Grand Champion Market Animal.
Madison feels incredibly fortunate to be part of a community that supports both agriculture and its youth and recognizes that the title of Grand Champion is one of excitement and humbleness at the same. On her own accord she asked if she could make special mention of Bob and as a family, we thought there was no better way than to honour Bob’s memory than to do what he would do. Pay it forward. Therefore, Madison decided to donate $500 from the proceeds of her winning market animal to the Chesley Hospital Foundation in memoriam of Bob Johnson, one of the many organizations Bob supported on an annual basis. Her generous donation serves as a testament to the value Bob instilled in her and the communities spirt.
We are incredibly proud of Madison and we thank you for your donation to the Chesley Hospital Foundation
