Did you know that if you hold a publicly listed stock bond or mutual fund, you can donate it to the Chesley Hospital Foundation? With the new rules surrounding capital gains, donating your investment directly may make strong financial sense for you. When the Chesley Hospital Foundation receives donations of investments, you receive a tax receipt for the full value that is received. We're all happy to see our investments grow, but maybe less then pleased to worry about the capital gains when the investments are redeemed. By donating your publicly listed securities to the Foundation in kind, you pay no capital gains tax on their increase in value.
